PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg South High School is preparing for its annual Spring Celebration and Easter hunt scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday on the front lawn of the school.
This year the Student Council has prepared about 7,000 to 8,000 eggs, over 20 baskets and 10 bikes to give away.
Activities include performances from the band and choir. The National Honor Society, senior class and Student Council will have activities for children and pastries available. The Easter egg hunt will start at 6 p.m.
Baskets, bikes and raffle giveaways from Texas Roadhouse, Wendy’s, Dairy Queen, Washrite, and more will be given away at the end of the hunt.
Sycamore Sweets and Jimmy Avocado’s food trucks will be set up for families to have dinner and desserts.

Partner in Education Chemours provided a huge donation of egg filler supplies, Integrated Health is sponsoring a bike and more filler, and the Blennerhassett Hotel and Spa is raffling a prom-dinner-for-two package for any students that made donations.
Other donations have been made by the South cheerleaders, girls basketball team, football boosters, the Francisco family, O’Callaghan family, Merrit family, Kiki Angelos, Barnhart family and Pierotti family.
