CHARLESTON – State employees in West Virginia will get a half-day holiday on Wednesday. Thursday is Thanksgiving and Gov. Patrick Morrisey on Friday signed the proclamation so state employees “could extend their Thanksgiving celebrations with loved ones.” Friday is a state holiday, too, Lincoln’s Day. The proclamation also says the extra half day does not extend to private businesses, local governments and others not in the employ of the state.Local News
