CHARLESTON – State employees in West Virginia will get a half-day holiday on Wednesday. Thursday is Thanksgiving and Gov. Patrick Morrisey on Friday signed the proclamation so state employees “could extend their Thanksgiving celebrations with loved ones.” Friday is a state holiday, too, Lincoln’s Day. The proclamation also says the extra half day does not extend to private businesses, local governments and others not in the employ of the state.
