PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Art Center and The Market will open their doors on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the annual Holiday Artists’ Market and Open House, featuring a mix of handmade treasures, gifts, and holiday spirit.

Visitors can shop one-of-a-kind creations from over 20 local vendors, including Shay Enterprise with 3D-printed items, local authors, Glitzern Boutique featuring crochet, pens, and bracelets, and JE Creations showcasing pottery.

Food vendors will also be on hand, including J & T Bakery with sourdough and sweet treats, DJ’s Sweet Creations, and the Fizzy Pop Beverage Truck.

Other offerings include woodwork by Weese Wood Gems, paintings and crochet by Brush & Hook, tie-dye items from Good Grief Tie Dyes, and specialty products from Elegantly Edgar.

Market attendees will also find unique holiday gifts, such as t-shirts and sweatshirts supporting children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, accessories from The Novel Notion-mobile bookstore, henna from Marietta Henna, stickers from Appalachian Weird, and more.

The Market will feature both new items and old favorites, and there will be discounts on select PAC swag.

Families are encouraged to bring children, as snacks and free crafting kits will be available throughout the day.

The event also marks the opening of the Artist-Tree Exhibit, a PAC tradition in which staff, volunteers, and school groups decorate trees inspired by famous artists or works of art.

“I swear, our Holiday tree decorators don’t just think outside the box–they live there! Every year, they turn a simple tree into a universe of glittering chaos, and I absolutely adore every wild, wacky inch of it. The results are always delightfully creative and whimsical, offering visitors a unique holiday experience,” said Artistic Director Abby Hayhurst.

Visitors can drop a few dollars in the container in front of favorite trees. The tree with the most contributions wins. Artist Trees will remain on display in the galleries, along with the WV Watercolor Society Exhibit through Dec. 20.

The Holiday Artists’ Market is sponsored by iHeart Media.

For more information, visit the Parkersburg Art Center website or stop by the event on Nov. 29. Free parking is available on the street or in the PAC lots between Market and Juliana along 8th Street. The Art Center is fully accessible.

Starting at $2.99/week.
