PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and Regional Affiliates (PACF) has announced a new initiative to support local educators through the launch of its Educator GrantED Program.

Approved by the PACF’s Board of Directors as a pilot project, this program will allocate $30,000 to provide education mini-grants to preschool through 12th-grade public school educators, nurses, librarians, and counselors within the Foundation’s service area, focusing on priority counties of Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Ritchie, Roane, Wirt, and Wood.

GrantED will offer individual awards of up to $3,000 to help public school staff implement innovative classroom-based projects that enhance student learning, according to a release announcing the program. These flexible funds are intended to support needs not typically covered by school budgets or central office funding. Grants may support new teaching materials, classroom equipment, or creative student enrichment activities.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed by a committee. Applicants must secure their school principal’s approval as part of the application process. The program will remain open until all available funding is awarded, the release said.

Initial funding for GrantED is made possible through the Foundation’s Virginia S. Hackett Memorial Fund for Education, reflecting a continued commitment to empowering local change through thoughtful generosity, the release said.

“This program reflects our Foundation’s belief in the power of education to strengthen communities,” said Senior Programs Officer Amy Nahley. “By thoughtfully investing directly in our educators–those who understand their students’ needs best–we’re supporting meaningful, locally led solutions that create real impact.”

Full application guidelines and eligibility information are available at www.pacfwv.com/grants. Educators with questions are encouraged to contact the Foundation at info@pacfwv.com or call 304-428-4438.

Starting at $2.99/week.
