WVU Medicine Children’s Day at Discovery World returning
PARKERSBURG — WVU Medicine Children’s Day at Discovery World, a free event for children and their families, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Discovery World on Market Street.
The second annual Children’s Day, sponsored by WVU Medicine Children’s, features free admission. Children and their families can participate in activities promoting a healthy lifestyle and see all the existing exhibits.
“We are excited to provide this day of fun for families in the Mid-Ohio Valley,” Amy L. Bush, chief administrative officer for WVU Medicine Children’s, said. “WVU Medicine Children’s is working to create healthier futures for our kids across West Virginia. We are grateful for our partners at Camden Clark Medical Center who are dedicated to the health of our community.”
Families will be guided on a journey through Discovery World and meet the teams from WVU Medicine Children’s and Camden Clark Medical Center at interactive stations. Among the Children’s Day sponsors are United Bank and WTAP Gray Media.
“We’re thrilled to welcome families back for our second WVU Medicine Children’s Day in the Mid-Ohio Valley,” Sean Smith, president and CEO of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, said. “Our closely aligned partnership with WVU Medicine Children’s gives families in our region seamless access to the best pediatric care available in the state. Whether it’s advanced specialty services or everyday pediatric needs, our patients can count on receiving the highest quality of care close to home. Events such as this provide the opportunity to celebrate that connection and highlight the resources available for children and families in our community.”
WVU Medicine Children’s is the state’s largest and most experienced group of pediatric primary care physicians and specialists, now offering a specialty telemedicine clinic in the Camden Clark Primary Care near the Grand Central Mall. Patients who need follow-up appointments with their Morgantown provider can be seen at the clinic without extensive travel.
Camden Clark also opened a first-of-its-kind Pediatric Rapid Care Clinic at the Southgate Medical Complex that is staffed every day by board-certified pediatricians.
