Worthington Women’s Golf Association closes season with awards

PARKERSBURG -- The Worthington Women's Golf Association has closed its 2025 season with its annual luncheon and awards ceremony. The 2025 Club Champion was Carol Geletko for the fifth consecutive year.

Winners from the 18-hole player group were Mary Lopez, Lori Butler, Mary Ingram, Shelly Hess, Katie Parsons, Charlene Stilgenbauer, Linda Lucky, Carol Ramsey, Gaye Fife, Marsha Jackson, Jeanne Chalfant, Jan Kiger, Sue Mitchell, Sue Ellen Johnson and Jean Tornes.

Nancy Meredith and Jeanne Chalfant tied for the Ringer Board winner. shared this honor. Most improved golfer was Jeanne Chalfant.

The 9-hole winners were Barbara Hupp, Ann Boyce, Coleen Wittig, Linda Connolly, Margie Santer, Donna Gaston, Ellen Knotts, Delores Steege, Barbara Payne, Lois Boise, Brenda Morton, Ronda Ketchum, Patti Golden, Evelyn Potter, Ruth Ann Lynch and Libby Rogers. Ringer Board winner was Ellen Knotts and most improved golfer was Barbara Hupp.

During the season Geletko, recorded the most birdies among 18-hole players. Geletko and Full became members of the 29 Club, players recording 29 or fewer putts in a round.

Payne and Hupp tied for the most birdies among 9-hole players. The 15 Club for players recording 15 or fewer putts in a 9-hole round included Delores Steege, Paula Tewksbury, Mary Smith, Sherry Crutchfield, Barbara Payne, Ann Boyce, Donna Gaston, Barbara Hupp, Margie Santer, Linda Connolly, Sandy Perrine and Coleen Wittig.
