PARKERSBURG — First Lutheran Church’s annual German Fest is set for Saturday at the church on 19th Street.
Activities and food service begin at 11 a.m., with food served in the fellowship hall until 2 p.m. A limited number of tickets will be sold, so it is recommended that guests come early.
The German Band will be returning and performing on the lawn. There will be some pop-up tents and tables set up, and guests may want to bring a lawn chair to “sit a spell” and enjoy the music, organizers said.
The traditional German bratwurst meal will include warm German potato salad, grilled brats and buns, sauerkraut, green peppers and onions, and spaetzle and gravy. The meal will also include a dessert and drink for the single price of $15.
A hot dog meal with homemade sauce, chips, dessert and drink will be available for children, and adults if they prefer, for $5.

Pastor Ian Reid will be giving an illustrated presentation at 1 p.m. in the church sanctuary, detailing how Lutherans came to West Virginia — and specifically the Mid Ohio Valley — and established churches.
The German Fest annually celebrates the German ancestry of First Lutheran Church. Everyone is invited. The church is handicap-accessible.
