PARKERSBURG — As its youth development services will soon expand to Vienna, Boys & Girls Clubs of Parkersburg officials have launched Harvest of Hope, a holiday giving campaign, with the goal of raising $20,000.

“We are blessed to have served nearly 300 members in one day across our three sites at Mary Street, Mineral Wells and Glouster. But as we serve more and more kids, the need for unrestricted funds becomes greater,” said interim Boys & Girls Clubs of Parkersburg interim COO Darlene Murphy.

With the organization expanding to Vienna in the coming weeks, Murphy said it’s a fantastic time to become involved with the organization either through donations, volunteerism, or word of mouth.

“It’s an exciting time here at BGCP, and we never could have gotten here without our generous and supportive community. A few years ago, we had a dream of offering Club access to all Wood County schools by 2026, and with the expansion to Vienna, we are getting closer to reaching that goal,” she said.

Giving campaigns like Harvest of Hope help the organization keep membership costs affordable and accessible for families. At $30 for the school year and a free membership for teens and members at the Vienna location, BGCP officials are committed to keeping costs as low as possible.

“We never turn away a family due to the inability to pay for a membership. That’s why we invite the community to spread hope by giving to our campaign. No gift is too small, and each $1 could help provide free meals and snacks, transportation, programming, homework help, and more,” Murphy said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
