Worthington Women’s Golf Association announces August game winners, elects officers for 2026

PARKERSBURG — The Worthington Women’s Golf Association met for its September business meeting at the Worthington clubhouse following the annual members’ nine-hole scramble.

Two teams tied for a low score of 33 and included Donna Gaston, Ronda Ketchum, Mary Ingram, Katie Parsons, Mina Applebaum, Carol Geletko, Barbara Payne and Judy Langkamer.

At this final business meeting of the season, winners of August games were also announced and prizes presented. Awards were given to 18-hole players Carol Geletko, Mina Applebaum, Vicki Fielder, Lori Butler, Katie Parsons, Nancy Meredith, Gaye Fife, Carol Ramsey, Shelly Hess and Sue Mitchell.

Nine-hole players receiving awards for August games were Margie Santer, Brenda Morton, Evelyn Potter, Libby Rogers, Ruth Ann Lynch, Vicki Squires, Ronda Ketchum, Paula Tewksbury, Ellen Knotts, Lois Boise, Donna Gaston, Delores Steege, Barb Hupp and Judy Langkamer.

Business at this meeting included election of officers for the 2026 season:

* Chairwoman – Lori Butler

* Vice Chair – Paula Tewksbury

* Secretary – Andrea Brock

* Assistant Secretary – Sue Ellen Johnson

* Treasurer – Sue Mitchell

* Assistant Treasurer – Ann Boyce

* Parliamentarian – Susan Cockerham

* Advisory Chairwoman – Ellen Knotts

* Nominating Committee for 2027 – Vicki Squires and Jean Tornes.

The WWGA will end the league season with a two-day tournament in September that will determine the 2025 club champion.

The champion will be announced when League members gather on Sept. 30 at El Mariachi for the year-end luncheon. The newly elected officers for the 2026 league season will also be installed at that event.

The 2026 season will begin with a dues coffee on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Weekly play will begin Tuesday, May 5, 2026. All area women golfers are invited and welcome to join the WWGA and should watch for further details as next season approaches or call Worthington Golf Course.
