BELPRE — The 93rd annual Belpre Homecoming wrapped up Sunday with nearly 10,000 visitors making their way to Civitan Park, Homecoming Board President Amanda Wires said.

“The weekend went amazing,” Wires said. “We had the best weekend! The weather was beautiful, the crowds were huge and the hard work the Belpre Homecoming Committees put in really paid off.”

Sunday included musical entertainment from the Clark Family, High Valley Rangerland and Doyle Sargent & The Teeb. It also saw another day of free rides for the kids. Wires said the free ride nights are a big draw for families.

“The only complaint was how packed it was Thursday for free ride night,” Wires said. “Families with multiple children may struggle or have a hard time paying $20 for rides per person so that’s a relief to offer the free rides. We heard several parents say the free rides let them be able to shop more from the vendors. So, it’s a win-win.”

Wires said some of her favorite highlights from the weekend included the stunt shows, Taylor’s story and Devin Henry’s performance on the Healthy Hustle Main Stage, the fireworks, the parade and the trolley rides.

“The support from our community this weekend was amazing,” Wires said. “We had an amazing year and event. We are so thankful for our community.”

Wires thanked her homecoming committee for their hard work and said the group will take some time off to reflect on this year’s event before making plans for the next. She said the group is always looking for help from the community.

“We are always looking for volunteers for next year and new committee members,” Wires said. “A huge shoutout to our sponsors, we couldn’t have the Belpre Homecoming without them. If people want to continue to see our event each year, please consider volunteering, joining our committee, donating and sponsoring.”
