PARKERSBURG — West Virginia State Police, partnering with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, and ending at midnight Thursday, July 31, near the Dollar General store on West Virginia 95, near Kemper Street, in Parkersburg.
The sobriety checkpoint may be moved to West Virginia 47 near the State Police detachment if the W.Va. 95 location becomes unsafe due to traffic congestion or if hazardous conditions arise.
The primary goal of the checkpoint is to deter impaired driving, according to the detachment. Drivers who want to avoid the checkpoint may plan to take an alternate route.
