PARKERSBURG — Health screenings were available as part of the WVU Medicine Camden Clark Health & Wellness Day at Camden Clark’s Health & Wellness Center on Birch Street Saturday.

“This is a great opportunity for us to promote access to care,” said Sean Smith, CEO of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center. “It is also an opportunity to be able to educate the community on the services we have to offer.”

Kim Couch, director of the Camden Clark Foundation, said free EKG vouchers were distributed to the first 100 attendees. They also distributed vouchers for blood testing.

“We’ve been doing this for many, many years,” Smith said. “We did have a gap during COVID where we obviously couldn’t do this.”

Couch said there could be more events like Saturday’s during the year.

“Our goal is to have this quarterly to give people an opportunity to get at least a blood screening; so many things to help people manage their health,” she said.
