PARKERSBURG — The Worthington Women’s Golf Association, celebrating its 76th year, has announced the winners of its May games during the June association meeting.

May 18-hole play winners were Carol Geletko, Mary Ingram, Jeanne Chalfant, Katie Parsons, Marsha Jackson, Sue Ellen Johnson, Judy Holmes, Jan Kiger, Mary Lopez, Lori Butler, Linda Lucky, Nancy Meredith and Debbie Full.

The May winners from the nine-hole players were Ann Boyce, Coleen Wittig, Sandy Perrine, Jan Wittman, Ellen Knotts, Donna Gaston, Andrea Brock, Judy Langkamer, Barb Hupp, Paula Tewksbury, Sherry Crutchfield and Evelyn Potter.

The association’s annual Fun Day will be held beginning 7:30 a.m. July 17 at the Worthington Golf Club, association Chairman Ellen Knotts said. This year’s theme is “Safari Par-Tee” and players are encouraged to dress in safari and jungle-print attire, such as leopards and zebras.

Fun Day is a scramble. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast. Play begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Lunch will be served and prizes will be awarded. Posters and registration forms are being distributed to all area golf courses.

All lady golfers in the area are invited to form a four-member team and play. For registration and other information call the Worthington Golf Club at 304 428-4297.
