PARKERSBURG -- The sternwheel boat that goes between Point Park and Blennerhassett Island was closed Friday and Saturday.
A representative of the Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park said Friday that tours were not going over to the island due to river conditions and high water from recent rains that have caused flooding in the northern panhandle.
The representative said the park might be reopened on Sunday. The park is planning to commemorate West Virginia Day. It all depends on the river conditions.
People are advised to check with the park on Sunday to see if they will be open. The park can be reached at 304-420-4800.
