MARIETTA — The First Presbyterian Church of Marietta is inviting the community to kick off the summer season with its debut “Music in the Labyrinth” concert on Friday at 7 p.m.

The free, family-friendly event will take place on the lawn above the church’s labyrinth, located near Fourth Street. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating comfort.

The opening concert will feature performances by the Christ United Methodist Cathedral Handbell Choir and the First Presbyterian Westminster Handbell Choir, promising an evening of rich, resonant sound. Guest musicians Vicki Schwartz-McCoy on flute and Victoria Humphrey on ukulele will also join the program.

In case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to the church’s Fellowship Hall.

According to a release, organizers say the event is “designed to celebrate music, community, and the spirit of summer in a relaxed and scenic setting.”
