Indivisible MOV, a newly formed unit made up of volunteers from Wood and Washington counties and affiliated with the national Indivisible movement, held a protest on the Interstate 77 overpass at Mineral Wells on Monday, Memorial Day. A release from the group said they were protesting provisions in President Donald Trump's signature "big, beautiful bill," particularly cuts to Medicaid and SNAP benefits and Medicare reductions they say will be triggered by its tax cuts. "With this 'big beautiful bill,' Republicans have broken their promise not to undermine Medicare or cut benefits," said Kim van Rijn, one of the co-leaders of the Action Team. "The protestors of Indivisible MOV are hoping more people will become aware of the possible impact of this bill on their lives and contact their representatives in Congress to express their concerns."
