Give Local MOV is a Parkersburg Area Community Foundation initiative taking place from midnight to 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, May 6.
Participating organizations benefit from a charitable fund at the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation & Regional Affiliates of Doddridge County, Ritchie County, and the Little Kanawha Area and 501(c)(3) public charities or schools (churches are excluded) that participated in mandatory training and created their profiles on the site by Feb. 28.
Anyone may donate via the Give Local MOV online portal at GiveLocalMOV.org. Donations are tax-deductible and cannot be refunded. Donations will be received and receipted by Parkersburg Area Community Foundation.
Each donor will be counted once per charity as a “unique donor.” Multiple gifts from the same donor only count as one unique donor. If multiple donations are made to several organizations, the donor will be counted as a unique donor for each organization.
Donors can contribute to multiple organizations using the gift basket feature and check out in a single transaction.

The minimum donation amount is $10. There is no maximum donation, nor maximum per charity.
Nonprofit giving platform GiveGab/Bonterra retains a 2% campaign management fee from all donations. Credit card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). Donors have the option of covering the fees, allowing 100% of their online gift to go to the receiving organization.
For donations to count toward prizes and match funds, they must be made by credit or debit card or through the ACH feature on the GiveLocalMOV.org site and designated to the organization between midnight May 6 and midnight May 7. Donations made on any other day and/or by any other method, including checks, cannot be counted for purposes of the prizes or match funds.
Although donations by check do not count toward those bonuses, they are still welcomed.
Checks can be mailed to PACF, P.O. Box 1762, Parkersburg, WV 26102, and made payable to the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, with “Give Local MOV – (agency name)” written on the memo line. If a donor wishes to support more than one organization, a separate list specifying the agencies and the donation amounts for each should be included with the check.
“Online giving through www.GiveLocalMOV.org is the best way to maximize the impact of your support,” said Julie Posey, PACF’s senior development and stewardship officer. “It’s fast, secure and gives your favorite nonprofits the opportunity to earn matching dollars and additional prize incentives. That said, we welcome all gifts, and we appreciate those who choose to give by check as well.”
For questions about donating by check or for more information about the Give Local MOV campaign, people are asked to contact the PACF office at 304-428-4438.
