West Virginia State Police schedules Wood County sobriety checkpoint

PARKERSBURG — The West Virginia State Police Parkersburg Detachment, in partnership with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, March 21, into Saturday, March 22.
It will be from 6 p.m. Friday until 12 a.m. Saturday. The checkpoint is being conducted to deter impaired driving. It will be held on West Virginia 95, in the vicinity of the Dollar General Store next to Kemper Street. It may be moved to West Virginia 47 near the WVSP detachment if the primary location becomes unsafe due to traffic congestion or if hazardous conditions arise.
Motorists who wish to avoid the checkpoint may take an alternate route of travel.
