PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg High School Choir is holding its annual spaghetti dinner at the Grand Central Church of Christ from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday to help the group raise funds for this April’s World Strides competition held in Toronto.

Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 for those 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance from choir members, at Bond’s Drugs, Bond’s Tailgaters and at the door on the day.

“The spaghetti dinner was incredibly successful last year and I hope the same for this year,” PHS Choir Director Joshua Dubs said. “These events are a great and unique way for our students to connect and engage with our incredibly supportive community, all while having a chance to perform and show their talents. A Cappella singers and parents are really exceptional people, and it is thrilling to have an event like this to spotlight what makes our group so unique.”

Members of the A Cappella and chamber choir, as well as the women’s and men’s ensembles, will be on hand to serve homemade spaghetti with meatballs, salad from D’Paulo’s, breadsticks from Olive Garden and D’Paulo’s, chocolate or white cake donated by BesTees from your Besties and assorted beverages, including tea, donated by the Seventh Street Wendy’s.

There will also be performances throughout for those in attendance.

“The spaghetti dinner is a great way to connect with the community and show what the A Cappella choir is truly about. The tradition of excellence,” senior alto Peyton Louden said.

The group competed in World Strides in New York City in 2024, Atlanta in 2023 and Nashville in 2022 consistently earning gold ratings. This year’s trip could be the last for some members.

“To go on this trip means a lot because it is my last year in the choir,” senior chamber choir member Natasia Miller said. “And with all of the support from the community it makes the trip more affordable for all.”
