PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation recently granted $26,000 to three organizations in Roane County through the foundation’s fall Community Action Grants Program.
The PACF is committed to improving the lives of people in its eleven-county geographic service area and brings together the financial resources of individuals, families, and businesses to support the region’s nonprofits.
The fall 2024 grant recipients include:
* Roane County Commission — $6,000 to purchase new medical supply bags for Roane County EMS.
* Valley Fire & Rescue — $10,000 to upgrade the station.
* WV Health Right Inc. — $10,000 to fund the mobile dental unit in Roane County.
“We are looking forward to getting these new bags on the trucks and all be uniform and to help the patients,” said Makiah Ratliff, director of Roane County Emergency Medical Services.
“We are able to restore form and function and give (the patients) confidence back in their smile. Without your help this would be impossible,” said Greta Nelson, Dental Coordinator and Clinical Hygienist with WV Health Right Inc.
