PARKERSBURG — The Actors Guild of Parkersburg will be holding auditions for its upcoming production of “Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr.,” directed by Ashley Fluharty.

Auditions will be held at the Guild Playhouse on Market Street from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, with callbacks on Monday if needed.

Show dates will be Feb. 28, March 1, 7, 8, 14, 15 at 7 p.m. and March 2, 9, 16 at 2:30 p.m.

“Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr.” follows the eccentric candy maker Willy Wonka as he opens his factory doors to five lucky children who find golden tickets hidden in his famous candy bars. Inside, they encounter magical rooms and meet Wonka’s team of Oompa-Loompas, who help deliver life lessons. While four of the children behave selfishly and face quirky consequences, young Charlie Bucket and his Grandpa Joe bring heart to the story. The show explores themes of kindness, integrity, and the joy of imagination, making it a delightful experience for the whole family.

* Augustus Gloop and Mrs. Gloop — A gluttonous child and his overindulgent mother

* Veruca Salt and Mr. Salt — A spoiled girl and her indulgent father

* Violet Beauregarde and Mrs. Beauregarde — A gum-chewing enthusiast and her determined mother

* Mike Teavee and Ms. Teavee — A tech-obsessed boy and his mother

* Grandma Josephina, Grandpa George, and Grandma Georgina — Charlie’s other grandparents

* Ensemble: Includes Oompa-Loompas, Candy Man Kids, Cooks, Squirrels, and additional students who add energy and variety to the show’s musical numbers.
