VOLCANO — For area dog lovers, the 2024 Woof Festival will be held from noon-4 p.m. Sunday at Mountwood Park.

Attendees are urged to bring their friendly leashed pet to the park for activities, contests, demonstrations, vendors and raffles. There will also be a Mountain Run, along with Dog and Kids (ages 5-12) Pageants with categories including Pre-Teen, Junior Miss and Little Miss.

The 2024 Woof Fest Pageant was held Aug. 11 at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.

The 2024 Teen contestants (ages 13-15) were Kayleigh Johnson, Reese Roush, Emilyn Richards and Mattie Ross. The 2024 Ms. contestants (ages 18 and up) were Faith Hamerbeck, Jesica Cornell and Casey Jo Nichols. The 2024 Mrs. contestants were Shyenna Riggenbach, Maika Whaley, Shandra Ice and Aimee Philips. The 2024 Miss contestants (ages 16-21) were Jackie Cheuvront, Miranda Witt, Kinley Hayhurst, Lillian Grace Bowles, Lauren Morris, Annadra Dudley, Cassidy Layne Cumberledge and Jalyn Ramsey.

Contestants were judged by poise, appearance, on-stage introductions, and a short personal interview with the judges.

The 2024 Woof Fest Festival Royalty includes: Teen, Reese Roush; Ms. Jesica Cornell; Mrs., Shyenna Riggenbach; Ambassador, Maika Whaley; Spirit Queen, Whitney Healy; and Queen, Jalyn Ramsey.

The Woof Fest Royalty will attend and assist with Mountwood Park’s Woof Fest Festival on Sunday. They will also represent Woof Fest at parades and festivals across West Virginia.
