PARKERSBURG — The annual German Fest returns to First Lutheran Church, 1701 19th St., Parkersburg, on Oct. 5.

The event celebrates the church’s German ancestry. Activities will begin at 11 a.m., with food served in the Fellowship Hall until 2 p.m. A limited number of tickets will be sold, so it is recommended guests come early, according to a release from the church.

The German Band will return and perform on the lawn. Some pop-up tents and tables will be set up on the lawn, and guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair to sit comfortably and enjoy the band.

The traditional German bratwurst meal will include warm German potato salad, grilled brats and buns, sauerkraut, green peppers and onions and spaetzle and gravy. This meal will also include a dessert and drink for $15.

A hot dog meal with homemade sauce, chips, dessert and drink will be available for children (and adults if they prefer) for $5.

A sanctuary tour is scheduled at 1 p.m. for interested guests who want to learn more about First Lutheran Church.
