PARKERSBURG -- The Children's Home Society of West Virginia has received three grants through the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation for a renovation project.
The grants are $10,000 from the Mary Anne and Doug Ketelsen Charitable Fund, $25,000 from the Mary M. Welch Advised Fund and a $50,000 Impact Grant from the community foundation's unrestricted funds.
The combined awards totaling $85,000 will be used for the renovation of the Children's Home Society's new community-based office in the former Worthington Elementary School. The renovated space will enhance the organization's capacity to provide essential services to children and families in need, fostering a safer and more supportive environment.
The community foundation is appreciative of Mary Anne and Doug Ketelsen for their continued dedication to the community and pleased to use its unrestricted funds to further the project in addressing critical community needs, a release from the foundation said.
