ST MARYS -- Summer Fest 2024 will take place Saturday in St Marys at the Pleasants County Aquatic Center and will feature the newly constructed Lazy River, fireworks, food vendors, carnival rides and more.

"Summer Fest 2024 has been a dream of several community leaders and it's coming to fruition this Saturday," Pleasant County Commission President Jay Powell said. "The collaboration between so many community entities has been tremendous. The Community Foundation, specifically the Lydia Fund, the Development Authority, the cities of Belmont and St. Marys, the local chamber and the park board all working together to bring a special event of this magnitude could be something very special for our area."

The event, presented by Pleasant County Parks, the Pleasants Area Chamber of Commerce and Pleasants County Convention and Visitors Bureau, will begin at noon Saturday and run until midnight. Carnival rides will be going on from noon until midnight and tickets will cost $20 for an all-day pass or $1-$2 per ride.

A general swim will take place from noon-4 p.m. and cost $5. A Glow Swim and Foam Pit will take place between 9 p.m. and midnight, with a break for fireworks at 10.p.m.

Events are open to people of all ages and Powell encourages everyone to come and enjoy the fun.

"We want our community and surrounding areas to experience a special day right here in Pleasants County," Powell said. "God has blessed us with incredible resources within our community and we have been blessed with individuals that have tremendous vision for making our community a special destination spot. This event will hopefully give us the opportunity to allow many to experience what many of us know, Pleasants County is a special place to live, work and play."
