YMCA of Parkersburg to host blood drive on May 6

PARKERSBURG -- The YMCA of Parkersburg will hold a community blood drive with the American Red Cross from noon to 6 p.m. May 6 at the YMCA on Broad Street.

"The YMCA of Parkersburg is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations," said Criss Welshans, YMCA chief operating officer. "This blood drive is our way of giving staff, colleagues and neighbors an opportunity to help save lives."
According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative.
