Hope Mission meal effort coincides with Easter celebration

PARKERSBURG -- Hope Mission held its monthly meal giveaway Sunday at 2 p.m. at their location on Lynn Street.
On the last Sunday of every month, the local church gives out a free meal to members of the community. This month's meal consisted of ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, desserts and bottled water.
Normally, the church hands out hygiene packages with the meals but instead opted to give out bottled water and Easter-themed treats for the children, as this month's free meal happened to land on Easter Sunday.
According to Pastor Aaron Jones, hese packages can have soap, shampoo, a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and feminine hygiene products. He said the packages really depend on what is donated to the church.
Hope Mission also serves meals after their weekly services at noon for those in attendance.
