PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg South High School theater troupe is gearing up for the opening night of their production of “Little Shop of Horrors.”

Described as “a deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical,” it tells the story of Seymour Krelborn, a meek floral assistant, who discovers a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II,” after a coworker with whom he is in love. The carnivorous plant promises unending fame and fortune but Seymour soon learns of Audrey II’s out-of-this-world origins and intent toward global domination.

The show stars Jantzen Karcher as Seymour, Lily Rice as Audrey and Caleb Rowan as Mr. Mushnik. Doors open this at 5 p.m. Saturday, with a dinner theater catered by Outback Steakhouse that includes chicken and steak on the menu. Other showtimes are 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3; 7 p.m. Friday, March 8; and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

Starting at $2.99/week.
