The Arc of the Mid Ohio Valley sets dance, silent auction benefit for Saturday

VIENNA -- The Arc of the Mid Ohio Valley will hold a benefit dance and silent auction with live music on Saturday at the Grand Pointe Conference Center in Vienna.

Silver sponsor individual tickets are $40 a person, $75 a couple and $300 for a table of eight. Doors open and the silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m.

Appetizers are at 6 p.m. and music will be from 7-11 p.m.

Music will be by the River City All Stars playing songs from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

The group was assembled by David Walmsley, who has played drums for several bands around the area for decades. He brought together performers in other bands.

The Arc of the MOV receives funding from grants and donations, with some minimal revenue generated from programs that is not enough to cover all of the expenses.

The benefit dance will allow The Arc to cover emergencies such as heating and water, covering final costs from the Secret Christmas program and grants that didn't cover all expenses for this project due to the increase in costs of goods.

The mission of The Arc of the Mid Ohio Valley is to support individuals with developmental disabilities at all stages of life, reach their full potential. Programs include WV Birth to 3, Inclusive Summer Day Program and People First of WV Self Advocacy Program for adults, monthly dances and health and wellness activities.

The Arc also provides vocational skills and employment opportunities for individuals with developmental differences.

Donations to the silent auction were from Columbo's, Zenergy Massage, Strong Tower Fitness, Superior Toyota, McClinton Chevrolet, Texas Roadhouse, Woodcraft, SW Graphics and People First Cafe, among others.

Appetizers and a cash bar will be available.
