PARKERSBURG -- The North Star Child Advocacy Center Parkersburg will hold its first benefit gala from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Parkersburg Actors Guild.

Tickets for the gala are on sale at https://northstarnightout.eventbrite.com. Tickets are $35 per person, $50 per couple and $500 for a table sponsorship.

"Please dress up a little and spend the evening with friends and family, all the while supporting our mission in healing abused children and helping their non-offending family members or guardians," Greg Collins, executive director of the Child AdvocacyCenter, said.

Sponsors of the benefit are Williamstown Bank, KVC West Virginia and Biztec.

Valley Catering will provide the heavy food stations and Wine Down on Market will run the cash bar, Collins said. Also planned are live music, a silent auction for children's art and awards presented for some of the hardest workers in child abuse, he said.

"This will be an enjoyable event filled with laughs that we hope turns into a yearly gala," Collins said. "Please, tell everyone in your circle about this event."

North Star is the busiest of the 20 child advocacy centers in West Virginia and has seen more than 600 children in each of the last three years for Child Protective Services and law enforcement, Collins said.

"We are also the largest in terms of the number of counties being officially covered, being Wood, Wirt, Pleasants, Ritchie and Calhoun," he said.
