MARIETTA -- The first Fall Festival will be held 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday at the Washington County Fair Grounds in Marietta.
The event will include entertainment, food, activities for children, a car and tractor show and more than 75 craft vendors, organizer Emily Griffin said. Demonstrations will be held during the day including making apple cider, basket weaving and making soap, she said.
Admission is $10 a car load or $5 per person who walks in, she said. All activities in the festival are free, except for the axe throwing and canoe trips, Griffin said.
Proceeds from the event will be used to replace the playground equipment at Civitan Park, Griffin said. The park is behind the skating rink.
Concessions will be available throughout the day, however, chicken dinners will be available for $13 a plate from 4-7 p.m., Griffin said. Kids meals of a hot dog will be available for $5, she said.
Chicken will be roasted over an open fire, Griffin said.
People entering the festival will receive a wristband so they can leave, then return without paying another admission fee if they want a chicken dinner, Griffin said.
Among the kids activities are a pedal pull and a scavenger hunt, Griffin said. Kids who complete all the stops on the hunt will get to make s'mores, she said.
The library bookmobile, bouncy houses and the fish hatchery from Senecaville will be at the festival.
Entertainment at the festival starts at 10:30 a.m.
