PARKERSBURG -- The Oregon Trail was recreated at Camp Kootaga recently, among other activities during the Kootaga Trails Camporee.

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts visited pioneer-themed stations around the camp and earned coins they could spend at the General Store.

More than 130 Scouts and their leaders participated in the weekend, testing their skills and learning new ones. Soup beans were cooked over an fire and hobo soup was made one evening for dinner over the fire.

Many units made small Conestoga wagons to carry their supplies from station to station.
