Trinity volunteers prepping for annual book sale

PARKERSBURG -- Volunteers continue to catalog the numerous donations for the annual Trinity Episcopal Church Used Book Sale booked for Oct. 4-7 at Trinity Hall, 430 Juliana St., in downtown Parkersburg.

"Supporters in our community and beyond have been generously donating their used volumes since June," said Lynn Fury, book sale chairperson.

Thousands of books will be available from which to choose, she said.

"Even the most prolific readers can discover stories and authors new to them," Fury said. "With these prices, many of our experienced customers come prepared to carry home their finds by the boxload."

Volunteers have spent weeks sorting and organizing to make browsing easier. Paperbacks and hardbacks volumes include categories of art, biographies, classics, cooking, fiction, religion, finance, health, histories, mysteries, novels, science fiction/fantasy, children's and home-school books, among others.

Gems, including elegant coffee table books and vintage publications such as yearbooks, are shelved in the Trinity Hall alcove.

The Trinity Episcopal Church Used Book Sale also offers crafts, holiday gifts and baked goods. Visitors can purchase lunch during the sale on Wednesday through Friday.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Proceeds support church and community programs including food assistance and scholarships.
