Spaghetti for a Cause on the plate for Saturday

BELPRE -- The Alzheimer's Family Support Group-Belpre will hold its Spaghetti for a Cause fundraiser from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at Rockland Church, 2300 Washington Blvd.

The public is invited and generous donations will be appreciated for the full dinner. Pre-ordered to-go meals are available by calling 304-482-4602.

All donations help provide local services and support research through the 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer's-Mid-Ohio Valley.

The event is sponsored by Belpre Landing Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Its support allows all profit from the dinner to go to direct services to families of Alzheimer's patients and facilitate local family support groups.

Auction item donors including Mando's Studio, Side Stitchin' Quilt Shop and Utah Dave's Golf Shoppe were thanked by Assistant Group Facilitator Mary Hennen.

The dinner is a preliminary fundraiser for the Walk to End Alzheimer's 9 a.m. Sept. 30 at Tomlinson Park in Williamstown, according to Susie Casto, group facilitator.

"We would love to see friends and families at the spaghetti dinner event, but to-go orders will be accepted," Casto said.

Funds raised during the walk support international research to combat the disease. The Alzheimer's Association supports local education and services such as the family support group.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's.
