Schutte performs at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church

PARKERSBURG -- St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church hosted a concert of contemporary Christian songs by singer and songwriter Dan Schutte on Sept. 17.
About 150 people attended and sang with Schutte, including "Here I Am, Lord," "Sing A New Song" and "Table of Plenty." Schutte traveled from San Francisco to perform.
The concert was held as part of an ongoing of the church's centennial. A reception followed in the Parish Hall at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Schutte is an American composer of Catholic and contemporary Christian liturgical music amassing a catalog of over 160 hymns and Mass settings. He began his music career as a founding member of the St. Louis Jesuits, a group of Jesuit students at St. Louis University.
His compositions have been recorded by notable Christian artists including Chris Christian, Amy Grant and John Michael Talbot and his music is credited in movie and television soundtracks including "Dark Waters," "Yes, God, Yes," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Will and Grace" and "Mistresses."
Schutte is the composer-in-residence at University of San Francisco where he composes new music and writes about spirituality.
