Paul Bunyan Show Oct. 6-8 at Guernsey County Fairgrounds

CAMBRIDGE — The 2023 Official Paul Bunyan Show will be held Oct. 6-8 at the Guernsey County Fairgrounds just outside of Cambridge.

The show for 65 years has been among the nation’s largest and oldest forest industry trade shows and is an opportunity for families to celebrate Ohio’s forestry background.

“The annual Paul Bunyan Show is by far one of the best family-oriented events you can attend,” Debbie Robinson, executive director of the Cambridge/Guernsey County Visitor and Convention Bureau, said. “Everyone will find something they enjoy watching, learning or buying.”

More than 150 exhibitors who represent all facets of the forest industry throughout North America will be available.

This year’s event features YouTube personalities Mike and Melissa Morgan of “Outdoors with the Morgans” and Buckin’ Billy Ray Smith and Boedy Pennington of “Woodsman Pro.”

The personalities will be present to meet and greet fans.

Established in 1957 and organized by the Ohio Forestry Association, the Official Paul Bunyan Show is believed to be the oldest forestry industry show of its kind in the eastern United States and annually attracts thousands of visitors from Ohio and surrounding states. The primary focus is to provide access to the knowledge and technology of forestry products and industry which enhances the quality of life and market competitiveness of individuals, families, industries and communities.

The show is sponsored by Husqvarna.

Among activities and displays will be the Ohio State Lumberjack Championships, the International Lumberjack Competition, the log loader competition, heavy equipment demonstrations, arborist skills clinics and demonstrations, chainsaw carvers, chainsaw clinics and demonstrations, grinders and chippers demonstrations, wood stoves, secondary wood products, lumberjack and log burling entertainment, forest industry education and seminars, camping by reservation or walk in (water and electric) with dump station location on-site, latest and greatest forest industry equipment, supplies and services, wood crafts, wood auction and food.

* 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., Great Lakes Timber Show

* 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Antique Chainsaw Demonstration

* Noon, meet and greet with Mike and Melissa Morgan

* 1 p.m., Ohio State Lumberjack Competition

OCT. 7:

* 7 a.m., Flapjacks for Lumberjacks

* 9 a.m., Tree Farm, A Way of Life Seminar

* 9:30 a.m., Log Loader Competition

* 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., Great Lakes Timber Show

* 10 a.m., Musical Entertainment by Dave Woodring; meet and greet with Mike and Melissa Morgan

* 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Antique Chainsaw Demonstration

* Noon, International Lumberjack Competition

OCT. 8:

Admission at the gate per day is $12 for adults, $6 for kids 7-12 and seniors and free for children under 6. The fee covers all events and entrance into all exhibit halls and educational seminars.

Show hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Parking is free.
