PARKERSBURG -- The Parkersburg High School Red Wings received training Tuesday from the staff of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Emergency Medical Services.
Members of the dance team learned critical skills including adult, child and infant CPR, AED training and basic first aid.
As part of the training, students watched instructional videos and completed a hands-on session while performing CPR and first aid with practice mannequins. Each student obtained their CPR cards by completing all training components and performing skills individually.
In addition to community engagement and training efforts, Camden Clark's Emergency Medical Services team recently was nationally recognized by the American Heart Association for ensuring access to best practices and life-saving care for local patients.
Camden Clark EMS has been honored with the Mission: Lifeline EMS Bronze achievement award for demonstrated commitment to providing rapid and research-based care to patients experiencing the most severe form of heart attacks and strokes. The Mission: Lifeline EMS achievement is awarded to agencies for providing exceptional on-scene care and highlights the collaboration and contributions to patient care provided by emergency services personnel.
