PARKERSBURG -- The Parkersburg Homecoming Festival this year will have a variety of entertainers.

Two big names are Brandon Davis, a rising country music star, and Darryl Worley, a notable country musician.

Davis started his music career after a near-fatal car crash made realize how short life is. The second song Davis released rose to No. 4 on the Billboard charts and Davis started amassing a fanbase.

Davis opened a 17-show tour with Tim McGraw in 2022 that traveled across the U.S. from April to June.

Davis' growing popularity is growing online, too. Davis has 1.9 million followers on the social media app, TikTok, as of early August, as well as his account being verified. Davis released 16 songs in 2023 and has near 334,000 monthly listeners on the popular music streaming app, Spotify.

His most popular song, "Step by Step," has over 5 million streams on Spotify.

Worley, also verified on TikTok with 23,400 followers, started his music career in 2000 with his debut album "Hard Rain Don't Last." Since then, he has released eight more albums, the most recent being in 2021.

Worley has 269,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and his most popular song, "Have You Forgotten?" has more than 17 million streams. All of his Top 5 songs have over a million streams, with his fifth popular, "A Good Day to Run" from his debut album, having over 4 million.

Worley's latest release, "Have We Forgotten," is a spin on his most popular song previously mentioned. "Have We Forgotten" is a modern spin on his original song with updated lyrics and a call to recognition of the world's current climate. Worley will be performing on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

Davis will perform 8:30 p.m. Friday with Mat VanFossen opening the event at 6 p.m. VanFossen has 18,700 listeners on Spotify, with his most popular song, "Get Me Now," having 89,970 streams. The opening ceremony will be held at 7:45 p.m. in between the two performances.

The Bluegrass Festival will start at 4 p.m. Saturday. Appalachian Hollow will kick off the event; the Putnam Family will follow at 5:15 p.m. The final act of the Bluegrass Festival will be Johnny Staats and the Delivery Boys, performing for the 21st consecutive year, excluding 2020.

"We got a little bit of everything for everybody," said Vice President of the Parkersburg Homecoming Board of Directors Chuck Lipps.

The fireworks is 10 p.m. Saturday. The Grand Parade is 12:30 p.m. Saturday beginning at Parkersburg High School.
