PARKERSBURG -- The Blennerhassett Lodge 79 Fraternal Order of Police has elected a new president.
Don Lindsey, homeless coordinator for the city of Parkersburg, is a retired officer from the Vienna Police Department.
He succeeds Lt. Beniah Depue, who was president since 2016. Depue, a Parkersburg Police officer, did not seek reelection.
"I want to thank Lt. Depue, who served as the FOP president for many years and Officer (Jeff) Grogg who served as the FOP treasurer for many years as well," Lindsey said. "I would also like to thank their families at this time for their efforts, help and understanding when they themselves helped with an event or their husbands and fathers were helping with an event."
Other officers elected or reelected to were:
* Mike Pifer, chief of the Vienna Police Department, reelected vice president.
* Rick Modesitt, retired chief of Parkersburg Police, reelected as lodge secretary.
* Kevin Parrish, elected as lodge treasurer.
* Brady Stephens, reelected as lodge chaplain.
