Belpre Homecoming crowds continues to enjoy festivities

BELPRE -- The second day of the 91st Belpre Homecoming at Civitan Park kicked off Friday night with an antique car show on the main lawn and motorcycle stunts from the Dialed Action Motocross Bike Show team on the riverbank.
The event had booths set up from the Belpre High School Alumni, the Belpre Lions Club, there were members of Boy Scout Troop 91 showing gun safety and the Belpre High School Student Council was on hand dishing out cold refreshing lemonade.
There were rides for the younger attendees and food for all that included funnel cakes, corn dogs, French fries and hamburgers, Kona Ice and Jimmy Avocado's.
There were events for everyone to enjoy including a bike show along the riverbank from Dialed Action Motocross, the Junior Miss Belpre Pageant, music from Hot Blooded: The Foreigner Tribute and a reptile show from For Goodness Snakes 8, a reptile rescue and sanctuary.
"We love getting out into the public to do shows," For Goodness Snakes 8 owner and founder Adrienne Love said. "We do a lot of social media presentations so it's always great when we get a chance to interact with people."
Love said For Goodness Snakes 8 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of reptiles. She said they also educate people on reptiles and animals they might not know about, or fear. She said she has found a lot more adults than children seem interested in the animals she cares for. The Belpre Homecoming will wrap up Saturday night with a performance and meet and greet from the runner-up of the 2022 season of "American Idol" HunterGirl and fireworks at 10 p.m.
