Paralympian Dave Whelan to speak at Amputee Fun Festival

PARKERSBURG — A new festival spotlighting amputees will be held 11 a.m.-6 p.m. July 22 at the Amputee Center, 2311 Ohio Ave. Suite B, in the Traffic Circle next door to the VA Vlinic.
The Amputee Fun Festival will feature live music, guest speakers, vendors, food trucks, amputee-specific vendors and residents and groups in the community offering services and experiences.
Musical guests are local artists Soph Stevens, Chip and Amanda Goble and Levi and Hanna Westfall.
The guest speaker will be Dave Whelan, a paralympian.
The center will be open for tours and participants can purchase raffle tickets, festival swag and monthly class passes on the day of the festival, a fundraiser for future center activities.
Vendor applications and sponsors are still being accepted.
