VIENNA -- Faith Baptist Church of Vienna has announced new pastor, Rick Eaton.
Pastor Eaton has lived in Wood County and the surrounding area all his life, apart from four years in the United States Marine Corps.
He and his wife Julie raised their two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kelsy, in Vienna and have resided there for the past 28 years. Eaton grew up attending Sunrise Baptist Church in Parkersburg and was first licensed to preach there in 1999.
Eaton and his family attended Faith Baptist Church for several years and was ordained there in 2005. He left the congregation and began pastoring, first in South Parkersburg at Lauckport Baptist, then in Doddridge County at West Union Baptist, and then in Coolville at Vanderhoof Baptist.
Pastor Eaton is well-grounded in the Word of God and in practical living. While working for the past 34 years at a local chemical plant, he also pursued and received his master's in divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary, a program based at Eastern University of Pennsylvania.
After retiring from his plant job to focus on full time ministry, we were glad to be able to welcome him back home to Faith Baptist Church.
The church invites residents to stop by and get to know the church and Eaton. Sunday morning worship is at 10:30 and Wednesday evening Bible study is at 7. The church is located behind Sam's Club in Vienna.
