Art and Culture CSP celebrates creativity of Parkersburg High School students

PARKERSBURG -- Art and Culture CSP held an art show and open house on Sunday at Artsbridge where more than 100 works of art from students from Parkersburg High School were on display.

Ribbons and cash awards were given in the categories of drawing, painting and crafts. Members provided cookies and punch to guests. Parents and students were invited to attend.

Winners were selected by two art teachers from Parkersburg South High School.

Winners were:

* Drawing: first, Jules Hyde, "Girl Oil Pastel"; second, Jaydn Johnson, "Two dogs;" third, Natalie Kelm, "Toucan/Parrot;" honorable mention, Makayla House, "Woman's Shoes;" honorable mention, Carly Vanfossen, "Elephant;" honorable mention, Carly Smith, "Parakeet;" honorable mention, Jaydn Hively, "3 Faces."

* Painting: first, Tyra Green, "Gray Cat;" second, Jules Hyde, "Woman;" third, Tyra Green, "Stuffed Dog;" honorable mention, Danielle Byers, "Skeleton;" honorable mention, Elora Ayers, "Cityscape;" honorable mention, Makenna Martin, "Cat;" honorable mention, Rylee Lamp, "Book."

* Crafts: first, Crystal Woodard, "Collage;" second, Olivia Shawver, "Ceramic Face Mugs;" third, Tobia Freed, "Wire Mask;" honorable mention, Zoey Stephens, "Tongues Ceramics;" honorable mention, Meghan Lauderman, "Ceramic Bowl;" honorable mention, Rory Essenmacher, "Ceramic Dragon."
