BELPRE -- The following events have been scheduled at the Belpre Public Library for children and families during spring break next week.
* Monday, April 3, 2 p.m. Perfect Pet Party where kids can color their own stuffed puppy or kitten, fill out their adoption information, then participate in the new pet parade around the library where they will be joined by adoptable pets from the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.
* Tuesday, April 4, the new escape room experience for ages 8 and up with an adult or 12 and up alone.
* Wednesday, April 5, for adults/teens at 11 a.m. the first meal in a mug program to learn to cook nutritious meals on the go. For this session participants will learn to cook individual breakfasts in a mug. Bring a microwave safe mug. All ingredients for meals will be provided.
At 2 p.m. for ages 7 and older, New Wizard Training! Tired of the Muggle life? Join us for a crash course is wizardry!
* Thursday, April 6, 10:30 a.m., Mid-Day Movie Pajama Party. Popcorn, games and a family friendly new release movie featuring a orange kitty with big eyes and fancy footwear will be provided
At 2 p.m., Belpre's Kitchen, a special program for ages 10 and older. Contestants will compete in a blind taste test to identify ingredients, create signature dishes from unusual ingredients, and present their dishes to be judged by some really picky library staff members.
* Friday, April 7, 4:30-6 p.m., Spring Fling, the first since 2019. Spring crafts, cookout food and a candy-free egg hunt to celebrate spring.
All of these programs have limited space and require reghistration. people can stop by the library, call the library at 740-423-8381, or message its Facebook page with the name of the event with which they wish to register, a contact phone number and the names and ages of all participants to be registered.
