PARKERSBURG -- Parkersburg South High School seniors gathered in front of the school for the annual SPOT Day parade Wednesday with the overall theme being Disney+.
Costumes and decorations ranged from Star Wars and the Avengers to classics such as 101 Dalmatians and Toy Story.
The parade began at 10 a.m. with a police escort guiding seniors down Belmont Street toward Gihon Road. Songs from Moana and The Cheetah Girls could be heard as the parade passed parents and supporters taking pictures. Waves and cheers came from both seniors and parents.
"The parade was fun," senior Taye Singer said. "Never thought time would come so fast to graduation. SPOT Day was fun, it was one last time I got to spend with friends."
Seniors will receive their diplomas and begin their journey to "infinity and beyond" Saturday, May 22, at the Erickson All-sports Facility at 7 p.m.
