Blenko Glass makes mad dash to sponsor Happy Little Fun Run

PARKERSBURG -- Blenko Glass is partnering with the Parkersburg Art Center and is in the process of creating unique glass pieces for an upcoming event.
"When we started a conversation with Alex Burdette at the WV State of the Arts Conference, we had no idea that it would lead to this wonderful sponsorship for our Happy Little Fun Run," says Kasey Snyder, PAC Board Member.
"As a staple in West Virginia's artistic culture The Blenko Glass Company is thrilled to work with the Parkersburg Art Center as they have been a pillar in the creative community in the Mid-Ohio Valley for many years and will be for many more to come," said Burdette of Blenko Glass.
Participants in the Happy Little Fun Run will each receive a unique Blenko suncatcher in lieu of a traditional race medal.
"A Blenko suncatcher is a hand stamped piece of glass made by a team of glassworkers by pressing a hand carved piece of carbon onto a dollop of hot glass," Burdette said.
The suncatchers will be dated and feature the Art Center logo.
Registration for the Happy Little Fun Run will get participants a virtual race kit that will include a "medal," a Happy Little Fun Run 2022 shirt, hand-painted canvas tote and a 5k race map starting and ending at the Art Center.
Registration for the Happy Little Fun Run is $45. Proceeds go to support community art outreach in our region.
Race packets will be available to pick up at the Parkersburg Art Center starting May 17. They can also ship out of town race packets for an additional $5 fee. Register by April 29 to guarantee a selected shirt size.
Participants can send images of themselves in their race shirts in front of one of the many selfie-stations or public art murals to be eligible for prizes. Send the photos to happylittlefunrun@gmail.com to be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be awarded at the end of June.
In addition to Blenko Glass, this event is also sponsored by Hughes Family Chiropractic.

The Parkersburg Art Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers gallery exhibits, art classes, camps, preschool, pottery studio membership and has a gift shop featuring locally made products. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Art Center is located at 725 Market Street in downtown Parkersburg.
