Gallery 310 to feature Hess artwork at Marietta College
MARIETTA — “How Long Has It Been Since You’ve Been Outside,” a solo exhibition by Erika b Hess, will be on display beginning Feb. 3 in Gallery 310 at Marietta College.
Hours of the exhibition will be 5-6:30 p.m. through April 14. The college will hold a reception for the artist from 5-6:30 p.m. March 18 at the Hermann Fine Arts Center where Hess will discuss the work in the exhibition.
Hess is a painter, curator and host of the podcast “I Like Your Work.” Her paintings and drawings are about gender, motherhood and the environment.
She is represented by Contemporary Art Matters in Columbus and her work has been nationally exhibited including in New York City, Brooklyn, Detroit, Los Angeles, Boston and Philadelphia.
Her work also has been featured in numerous publications and she has served on panels including the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Feminism Now: Exposing the Truth and Boston University’s Building Collaborative Art Spaces and she frequently lectures at colleges such as Wellesley University, Massachusetts College of Art & Design, Missouri State University and Eastern Michigan University.
Gallery 310 is located on the third floor of the Hermann Fine Arts Center at Marietta College. Gallery hours are 9-3 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9-1 p.m. Thursdays or by appointment at gallery310@marietta.edu. Gallery 310 observes all Marietta College holidays and breaks.
