PARKERSBURG -- Madison Elementary School has received a Parkersburg Area Community Foundation grant of $6,266 for the Copter Opportunities for Programming Technology while Experiencing Real-World Scenarios, dubbed Madison C.O.P.T.E.R.S.
Madison Elementary fourth graders in Ruth Patrick's class will be flying drones.
Students who are wired to learn how to use technology and drones can boost their skills. Drone Legends will provide Madison with the curriculum, the drones and the professional development to enhance instruction.
Curriculum will tie in with the statewide initiative, Discover Your Future. Patrick is an elementary mentor for Department of Education Coordinator Nathan Taylor.
They are fine tuning middle school agriculture lessons that can be easily implemented by middle school teachers in West Virginia. The curriculum through Drone Legends includes agricultural lessons aligned with Department of Education College and Career Readiness Standards.
