Chester Lilly III has been convicted of first-degree murder this afternoon by a jury in Wood County Circuit Court
He was on trial this week for the murder of Travis Peters in June 2019. Lilly argued self defense.
The trial will move to the mercy stage where witnesses will be called and the jury will deliberate whether Lilly should receive mercy.
