Day of Action, sponsored by WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center, this year will involve 125 volunteers in 17 teams working at 12 places, said Stacy DeCicco, executive director of the United Way Alliance.

"It does bring the best out of people," she said.

The event was not held last year because of the pandemic, DeCicco said. However, things are looking better now, according to DeCicco.

"We decided back in March we would put it back on the calendar," she said.

Some groups wanted to participate, but employees are still working by remote, she said. For other organizations, it is difficult get out of the office, DeCicco said.

For the latter, Wesbanco wanted to participate and came up with a creative way to do so by organizing a month-long campaign to collect donations for Birthday Bags, DeCicco said. Birthday Bags are disgtributed at food pantries to families with a child having a birthday and contains the ingredients to make a cake, she said.

"It's a great project for organizations who want to get involved in a drive," DeCicco said.

While Camden Clark will have four teams, Chemours will be at Depot Park near Belpre High School for the installation of the trail and a free library.

The United Way and city officials will hold a ceremony for the new trail and library, sponsored by North Bend Wealth Management at 3 p.m. at the trail, DeCicco said.

"That was really neat for us, too," she said.
